for the last weekend of February 2009 in Germany. Hosted by Blóđvitnir, we look
forwards to some intense training and some good times to create bonds and renew
friendships.
EVERYONE in the Brotherhood should make the effort and come to this training. Secretaries please
spread the word and let everyone know when it is happening.

| The Four Storms |
 Greetings All,
It has taken some time but finally we have in place the Four Storms.
I will be writing an article explaining everything that a Storm does, his roles and responsibilities but for now just let me tell you the short version.
There are four Storms, named for Odin's ravens and his wolves. Hugin & Munin, Freke & Gere.
North - South - East - West ... each has its own Warhost ... each has its own Storm.
North - Northern Europe (excluding UK). Let us congratulate Brother Marc Becker on becoming The Storm of the North.
Watch this space and soon you will see the changes coming to the Brotherhood.
The Storms come, Feed the Flame, One shield, one Brotherhood.

| RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE 7 |
 Welcome all once again to the greatest Viking gathering in the universe. Even those from the actual viking age have emailed me saying how they would love to come to the RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE 7!!
Sadly they are dead. But you are not. So sign up for the Rumble which this year, has moved to its new home ... AUGUST 21st & 22nd.
That's right folks! THE RUMBLE™ has officially moved to August where it will from now on always be.
So get your sun cream and bring your weapons and come on down to THE RUMBLE™
After every RUMBLE™ i personally ensure to get as much feedback as possible so that i can keep my promise of always improving THE RUMBLE™, always making it bigger and better.
FIGHTING ...
This year our very own LENNO VISSER will be organising the WARGAMES. Not only will there be the usual fighting in the woods but also a selection of wargames devised by the windmills of his mind.
There is also the possibility for those of you not fighting to be able to do some axe throwing and archery. So even if you cannot fight come along anyhow.
It will be a perfect oppurtunity to spend times with old friends and new, THE RUMBLE™ is for us - by us ... on private land ... it is up to us all to make it a success.
So the more of you that turn up, the better the fun will be!
Finally let us not forget the coveted HOLMGANGR™ championship belt.
Last year due to excessive rain and unsafe conditions it was not possible to fight for the World Championship belt. By default the belt went to THOR ODINSSON.
So if you want your name on the most unique trophy in the viking world then bring your weapons, bring your helmet, bring your courage!
FOOD ...
As always THE RUMBLE™ team are dedicated to bringing you the best possible food that we can (in a forest).
Norman 'Kneel before Zod!!' Hewitt will once again be starting your days with his own charming self providing you with breakfast and a cheeky smile.
This year we have decided to bring all the fun of the fiesta and the food will be mexican. Gunnar Judd and I will be making chilli for lunch and fajitas for dinner.
And close to midnight on Saturday night ...
FRANKENSTEAK!!! 'NUFF SAID!!
So come and join in the fun and enjoy great fighting, food and funshine at RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE 7.

| RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE - HALLOWEEN EDITION |
This year sees the Rumble take place on all hallowes eve. As always it will be bigger and better than ever! The italians are once again gracing us with their culinary ability. Carl and the breakfast crew will be ensuring you get a hot english breakfast to start the day and of course the infamous stew this year will be made by ... The Reverend Jerry Judge! A nice seasonal irish stew to fill the belly and warm your cockles!
The highlight of the saturday will be the Holmgangr tournament where the Reverend Judge will be defending his title for the Championship belt.
Furthermore this year the party will involve fancy dress ... the best fancy dress will win a prize. The theme is ... come as another viking.
That's right ... saturday evening dont just come as yourself ... come as another viking and impress your friends by how much you look like them ;)
So come on guys! Get to the Rumble!

| Training weekend |
Something NEW happened at the Einherjar training at the end of February. Ideas long in the making are finally being put into action (the joy of those who were there was lessened only by sorrow for those who missed it).
Imagine if we were to gather for a battle somewhere, secure in the feeling that we will fight together as one devastating force. No time-wasting meetings or musters, no need for our leaders to rehearse manoeuvres. Together we go on the field and move as one force, feared and respected for our deadly coordination and our proud fighting spirit. Think how strong this would make us feel! Think how our enemies would fear us! Meldric and others are bringing forward plans that will make this vision reality: plans made from the input of ALL interested members of the brotherhood of Jomsborg. We didn't just train and drink at the weekend, we held seminars and brainstormed the best way forward, all of us together. Ideas long in the forming are finally becoming reality.
Plans have been made. But they are worthless if we don't have two things:
We need the leadership to see them through, from beginning to end. That leadership is coming.
We need the commitment of all of us, Styrsmen and Drengir, to use the work of the leaders for the good of all. We are ALL needed! If we don't ALL feed the flames together, the fire will not burn hot enough.
But imagine the fire we will make if we do...

| "Thor" to be released in early 2009 |
At the 30th of January 2009, "Thor", the new album of WIZARD shall be available. The main topic of it will be the Thundergod Thor. Wizard already published an album that was dedicated to Odin in 2003 and now Redbeard will be honored.
The story concept and all lyrics were written by me. Recording is finished. Although I haven't heard any of the final songs yet, the band is very pleased with the result. Working together with Wizard is always a pleasure as my friend Volker, Asatruar like me and also member of the Eldaring, really appreciates my work for the album, as the other bandmembers did. I would like to welcome a new addition to our family ... well ok ... more like Jeff's family down in Oz.
Last night he and his lady were delivered a beautiful bouncing baby by the stork who is responsible for such things (whaddya mean storks dont bring babies?! ed.).
I would like to wish them all the very best of happiness and blessings for their family.
Congratulations and well done!
Hope both Elizabeth and Katherine are doing well.

| Guitar given to Olavi |
 On the 6th of november 2008, in the Palladium in Cologne we handed over the new Gibson to Olavi. The guitar was altered by Sana in his workshop with his own design that is roughly based on the cover artwork of the "Wrath of the Norsemen" DVD. Shortly before the gig, the guitar-technician made the new Gibson ready for stage-usage in a very short time. Oli played the gig already with the new guitar and we could see his pride of ownership! Reporters from different metal magazines took pictures of it. There will be a detailed story about the building process of the guitar in the german Metal Hammer soon.
After the gig and after watching Trivium and Slayer, we had a good time with our brothers in the rather small backstage room and worked on new plans for the future.

| The Jomsviking Althing |
From Friday October 24th till Moday 27th the Jomsviking brothers gathered from the four corners of the earth in the great longhall in Ribe. There we held counsil and reaffirmed the bonds of our brotherhood. Several honoured guests were also present and helped us drain the horns to the dregs. We spent the weekend together in the longhouse, living authentically as vikings and spending valuable time together, including fight training, feasting and a trip to the local roman-style bathhouse. Never have we felt so clean!
The Brotherhood is feeling refreshed and renewed, and, as ever, greedy for life. |
| The Rumble and the rest of season 2008 |
Ok then.. We started the season with a training weekend in Genoa, courtesy of the Italian division of the Brotherhood of Jomsborg.. A reasonable few of us were welcomed at a magnificent castle overlooking the Mediterranean! We trained in the first warming spring sun, and partied at the first clear night sky.. All signs of a good season to come! ..Or, at least that was my excuse for insisting it should be!
..And, I think it has!
By far, I know what has been happening all over Europe.. But people have come back with good stories and satisfied faces.
-Think we can say.. at least the weather was good in Moesgard.. The brotherhood fought well regardless any disappointing outcome..
-An event that, by the sound of it, has managed to evolve into ‘place to be’, is Wolin, Poland.. Where the fight was hard but fair.. A place where young-fighting-blood could possibly be passed trough to full fledged warrior..?
-And then all the other events that you’ve been to.. For example, the last entry, to this brilliant forum, by Blóđvitnir..
..This creates an event for it’s self! The ‘Brotherhood of Jomsborg forum’!!! (“End of season/see ya next year” has hereby ceased to exist..)
Though, physically there is a last but not least.. Here in England/London it was the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’!
This year number 5.. And as promised by Norman and Q.. Better and bigger than ever! It was nothing short of that. The food was even better than last year!
The London-Laggies worked hard to prepare the woods for fighting, draining the land from excess water and building a proper outdoor kitchen..
..Well, the fighting in the woods was as usual, awesome!!! This alone is a reason to come and play across the channel! But.. this year the main game has properly become the Holmgangr! Last year honourably won by Sven, will from now on be rewarded with a year ownership of a sublime, black leather with silver encrusted, belt, form the talented hands of Alban!!!
Sven, in thought, was carrying this proper extension of manhood (?!? Whenever a lady might win it.. description shall change.) all this last season, but had to soon pass it on to the winner of this year... The Honourable Judge, Jerry. Whom, so well explained by Sven, clearly MISS-judged his retirement?. “You shall have to train if you want to hold on to the chick magnet, My Lord..!!!”(I did not just name that belt!)
And after all this, the circle became round.. A Banquet meal, prepared by our attending Italian brothers!!! Pasta in the tre colore of their flag, green, white and red (you thought we were back in Genoa)!!! Cooked with a song and a smile.
A ceremony to re-establish the lead structure of the Italian Chapter of the Jomsborgelagy, and a party by a clear night sky..
Also of note was the ceremony where Greg Vandil took the ring and his place as a Brother in the Circle of Jomsvikings! Well done Greg!
That, accompanied by an abundance of bug bites, gave it a LONG (still itching) lasting impression of a brilliant end to our season..
Same again next year?
